Conjouring is a video of a Maypole spring equinox ritual.   In this piece, my sister witch family is doing the Maypole-an old European ritual to celebrate the beginning of Spring.   Dancing around a pole weaving ribbons represents fertility, joy and is a veneration of trees.   It is a marriage of the sky and the earth.  The weaving dance cultivates the energy to bring the two together and as the dancers, we are the conductor of the energy- honoring and blessing the natural transition of seasons.    The yellow and red snake like sculpture is the actual ribbons woven on the Maypole during this ritual.   The red costume is one worn for this ritual.  The objects are the relics.
